“홍콩 익스프레스는 아시아에서 28개 노선을 운항 중이며 대만의 화롄시와 태국 치앙라이, 베트남 나트랑, 일본의 다카마쓰, 히로시마, 이시가키 등 특별한 도시에도 취항하고 있습니다. 현재 일본, 한국, 태국, 대만, 중국, 캄보디아, 베트남 및 서태평양 (사이판) 등에 공급이 충분하지 않은 도시로 향하는 노선을 보유하고 있습니다. 홍콩 익스프레스는 서울, 부산, 제주로 매주 35회 운항합니다. 당사는 여행자들의 니즈에 맞는 새롭고 흥미로운 노선을 개척하기 위해 노력하고 있습니다.”

Interview of Stanley Yau, Director, Talent & Innovation of HK Express “we aim to hire 20 Korean cabin crew”
Hong Kong’s low-cost carrier HK Express held its first-ever Cabin Crew Recruitment Day exclusively for Koreans. Korea Economic Daily interviewed Mr. Stanley Yau, Director, Talent & Innovation of HK Express. He said “There are currently 14 Korean crew members in HK Express”. He added the reason HK Express decided to hire more Korean cabin crew. “Korean cabin crew have good attitude and passionate energy.”
▷ What is the reason for choosing Korean crew?
“HK Express currently operates 3 routes to Korea including Seoul-Incheon, Busan and Jeju. The airline boasts a team of 1,000 total staff including 450 cabin crew members. Among the cabin crew, fourteen are Korean. As the airline seeks to beef up its cabin services team and cater to the increasing number of Korean guests, HK Express is excited to tap the customer service talent pool in Korea.”
▷ How many Korean are you planning to hire and why?
“During this Recruitment Day, HK Express aims to hire around 20 Korean cabin crew to cater to the increasing number of Korean guests, as well as its operational needs.”
▷ What criteria of the cabin crew HK Express look for?
“HK Express aims to recruit an additional 20 cabin crew members from South Korea across all ranks of cabin crew, including Senior Purser, Flight Purser and Flight Attendant. HK Express will be looking for candidates who are passionate about the airline’s values: convenient travel, safety, and guest satisfaction. All the applicants should be fluent in English and Korean, express a positive attitude, and be willing to relocate to Hong Kong.”
▷ Why did HK Express decide to hold the recruitment day event in Busan?
“This is HK Express’ first-ever cabin crew recruitment day in South Korea. Currently, the airline operates 35 weekly flights to Seoul, Busan and Jeju. In order to accommodate our current and future needs, we are recruiting high quality candidates from Korea. Applicants will be provided more detailed information about the airline and the positions at the event. Successful candidates will be chosen for their communication skills and teamwork after interactive group exercises and individual interviews.”

“HK Express posted recruitment notice in various channels including HK Express’ online career page, HK Express Facebook page and www.incruit.com. Qualified and interested candidates can apply through these channels in advance. Today’s event drew over 1,700 applications and around 120 of whom were shortlisted for interviews with HK Express. ▷ Which routes Korea cabin crew usually fly after joining HK Express?
“The newly hired Korean crew members will work on all 28 routes HK Express is currently operating. However, it is highly likely that Koreans will work for Korea-bound routes due to language and culture. If they are good in English, there is a higher possibility to work on various routes.”

“We prefer people who have a passion and energy as well as a customer service mindset. This is because it matches our aim to provide comfortable and good travel memories to our customers as well as safety.”

At present, HK Express flies to underserved cities in Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Mainland China, Cambodia, Vietnam and Western Pacific Ocean (Saipan). Besides, HK Express operates around 35 weekly flights to Seoul, Busan and Jeju. The airline is committed to opening up new and exciting routes that fits traveler’s needs.”
▷ How many passengers does HK Express carry a year?
“As of August 2017, we have transported 3,462,617 passengers in the past 12 months, which is a growth of 24.81% compared to the 12 months prior.”
